Admit it, the name, Euphoria Music Festival, sounds like a euphemism.
From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. April 12-13, adherents of electronic dance music will gather at the Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels to quake to master sound manipulators such as Mord Fustang, Conspirator, the Polish Ambassador — “the world’s funkiest diplomat” — and Tommy Trash (pictured). But that name? Really? What are you trying to say?
“We chose the name Euphoria because it aptly describes the music and atmosphere that festival-goers will experience at the event,” says promoter Mitchell Morales. “From world-class DJ’s and other acts to performance and live art, we hope to inspire thousands of smiles and share what really makes us happy.”
Happy. Well, that’s OK. After all, the revelers will quaver under trees and stars along the glorious Guadalupe River.
For the two-day line-up — true-blue fans will camp out nearby — Morales and friends sought out a variety of EDM artists.
“We tried to bring acts that haven’t been to the area many times,” he says. “And provide an alternative to more cookie-cutter electronic events.”
